Traditionally, to achieve a ’Äúpolished’Äù look on a concrete floor, a build-up of a chemical product was applied to the concrete. The product could then be buffed to provide a sheen.
Polished concrete is a mechanical grinding and polishing process that utilizes industrial diamonds.
Hardeners and sealers are added to level, densify, polish and finally seal the floor from within the interior of the floor surface.
Mechanical Polishing will grind and seal the surface of the concrete, giving the appearance of a rich stone-like finish with a deep sheen luster. The surface will be flattened, and ground smooth to remove any course texture or ridges.
